Cool Oh Yah

after a few years of using used junk and ending up with some nice little cassette tapes of my own music I finally made the plunge. new 424MKIII, new mics, good monitors, stand alone cd recorder, and a new Martin HD28.

I LIKE IT! I LIKE IT!

I think I'll go and pick some squash.

Exclamation Excellent! Party On!

Way to go!

I've thought about buying a new 424mkIII, as a 'what the heck' purchase. GC has been blowing them out for $399, and I may get one to add to my collection... as you may remember, I have a substantial Tascam/Fostex collection, and I think the 424mkIII is a great unit.

Actually, I've been really lucky, and most of the used gear I've scored has been clean, low usage, near mint as possibly can be, so I have no gripe about used gear. I'm sure a lot of people bought these machines, and may have never used them. They sat them in closets, and then sold them cheaply on Ebay, and I end up with what's a virtually new, vintage machine. I've been lucky with the majority of my used gear purchases.

New gear is fun to buy, too, and the 424mkIII represents unparalleled price/feature value. You almost can't afford NOT to have one!

When the 244 was new, in 1982, it cost $1100. When the 424mkII was new ('97) , it cost $479. The new 424mkIII at $399 is almost a steal!

I'm sure the 424mkIII sounds great, and will be a great Portastudio for you, now that you're ready for 'the big time', ahah, and 'real' production. Hahahaa.

Hey, DTB, as you know, I've been getting together some CD's of my own home recordings. One is a 3 CD set, career retrospective, and the other one is a brand new 'album' project , just recently recorded.

I'm pretty sure I've sent you a few emails about my progress. The CD project started in March, and I swear to you, I'm almost done.

The music is exciting, and action packed, from end to end. There are no B-sides in this collection.

I'd like to send you a set [4] cd's, free, no obligation, just to enjoy, and to stimulate your creativity, and to give you an example of what I've done over the last ~20 years, on my Portastudios and other equipment.

I've got a few extra CD copies (I can make), for any other sincere home recordists, who'd like to hear my stuff.

DTB, (& others), email me directly at d.archuleta@att.net about the discs.

DTB, I have your email address, but will need your mailing address, as soon as I print/cut & finish the discs... which will be soon... haha... since I know I've been saying that since March.

I've taken extra time, because it's worth it. Also, I have a normal life I lead. Music & recording is a part-time pursuit, but a serious hobby for me.

DTB, email me soon, with your mailing address. Others interested, email me. I've got CyberDragon and Hlblyhippy on my CD list already.

Free CDs of my own homerecording and jams. All cover tunes. Satisfaction/money back guarantee, hahah, free. Free to virtually anyone interested enough to ask!

The hype is over, and the discs are almost ready to ship!

PS, DTB, I'd like to hear some of your homerecording/Portastudio stuff.

Way to go on the new gear purchase. I'm happy for you. You won't regret getting those key, quality components & guitar for your studio. Those were good purchases.
