focusrite Penta

Anytone had any experiebce with the Focusrite Platnum Penta compressor. It seems cool. It has 16 preset compressor setting from kick to acc gtr. snare, vocal. I know, someone out there will say there is no such thing as pre settings for a comp. It is a good place to start though! Jim Oh, it only retails for $500.00

Thanks tubedude, sorry all I just realized tube already post this question. Did not scroll down enough!! If its compressor section is good ,it would be nice to have. Resetting compressors and remembering what the prefered settings are is hard for me. While Im here, can anyone explain how they determine how to set there compressor? ratio, threshold, attack and release time?Jim

I doubt the thing is on the same level as a Red series, but it probably sounds real nice. Focusrite probably wont release something that isnt far better than decent. Theres a compression thread somewhere on here, I think by Shailat... look around...

its not the same sound as a red. i have some reds and there's nothing quite like it. they're taking the piss if the penta sounds as good as the red cusit's so much cheaper.

you cant really go wrong with focusrite, iv got la few things from them, recently got the MixMaster. waiting for our mastering dude to tell me if its worth it, but the spec sounds wicked. they never really bring out a crap piece of equipment, in my experience:-)
