Audio time stretching

Does Reaper do it? Can you use it to load in audio and slow down it down while maintaining pitch to learn solos?

It sure does.

You can use the playrate slider at the bottom to speed up or slow down playback (right-click to preserve pitch)

You can also time stretch recorded/imported items by holding alt and dragging either edge of the clip.


Alt + Enter will bring up the project settings where you can specify the project's default pitch/time stretching algorithm. F2 will allow you to do it per-item.

Can you slow it down a lot, or just a little?

I don't have Reaper, but if it does what I'm looking for easily, then I'll get it.

I'm not at home right now but I think the max speed is 4x and min speed is .25. There is a playrate slider next to the transport that allows you to adjust it to whatever speed you want.

You can also right-click the playrate slider and change the minimum and maximum speeds if you would like.


I suggest you just download it and try it. The installer is only 4mb and it has an uncrippled 30-day trial.
