AKAI DR16pro compressed?

Hi smart people,

I want to buy a DR16pro... but Im looking and looking and looking for proof on their website, or anywhere... that its 24-bit UNCOMPRESSED.. and can't find it anyway. However, when you look at the dps16 or dps12 they boast uncompressed recording.

That makes me thing that the dr16pro is compressed 24 bit, like my roland vstudio that Im getting rid of, cause the compression depresses me.

So, is the dr16 compressed 24bit like the roland, or is it uncompressed? And if uncompressed, why dont they advertise it!?

thanks

Poetry,

You can call Akai toll free - 1800-433-5627.

By the way, the DPS16 is uncompressed 24bit recording and I think its cheaper than the DR16.
