Label needs some one to mix and master!
I have a label full of talented individuals including myself. I mix and master all of our songs, but now days i have been overwhelmed with school, family, and music. I'm am looking for some one who will assist with the mixing and mastering. We are on a low budget, it's not like we are signed yet. We have offers and have been recognized by major record labels connects such as Walter Bryd, the former manager of former Dipset Affiliate Max B. I'm a humble and honest person that is willing to give all credit to the engineer. As far as money goes, we can work out a contract. We are looking for someone to bring with us to the top. When a deal is cut with a major label, we will make sure that you will get taught by the best in the craft.
You can take a listen to our music at myspace.com/trustate |

Work out what kind of contract...pay as you go...or pay when you make it big?
I would do it for free...but then, I would need you to come cut my grass and rake my leaves and shovel my driveway this winter...for free... ...but I promise to give you credit for the work. ![]() Dude...we are all in the same boat...overwhelmed with life, family and music. It's hard enough getting our own work done. |

I honestly wish you the best of luck, but aren't you aiming kind of low looking for a house engineer in a home recording forum?

FARMER ONE: Let's hire him, he looks mean; he has a scar on his face. FARMER TWO: I'd rather have the man who gave him that scar. Why would you want to hire someone who needs to be trained? You should be going after the trainer. Especially if you really expect a real label to actually take the engineer along with your talent. A label probably isn't going to give a shit about hiring a no-name engineer; all they are interested in is if you have an artist talent pool from which they can make money. They can hire any engineers they want once they have that, and not have to worry about anyone who isn't even an engineer yet because they still need training. Now, if you truly believe in your product and it's future, as it sounds as if you do, you should be able to sell your idea to a Named Engineer who would be willing to not only help you with the engineering, but give you the extra cache in the business to get you foot in more doors. That's where you should be shopping. Aim higher. Do some research on personalities, target some specific names, and go after them. G. |

![]() I agree that if the music is THAT good, there may be someone(?) out there who could become intersested that could do great enginnering and also push them forward...but finding that person is the hard part, especially to get them to do it free...on spec toward some "future payoff". Glen is right...little chance of finding them on an Internet audio forum. |

Is the Cave slow again...or do you just like being in my shadow?
If you're going to post-up on the audio forums...why not hold off until you have something of value and substance to add. Of course...there's always the Newbie forum....you can impress there without too much effort. Hey...maybe you should hook up with the OP...he says you will be taught by the best in the craft. |

Good...join the OP.
Come back when you have something to add, instead of just showing up in threads to stir up shit and then crying about the responses you get. |

1. I accuse you of whining like a baby so you automatically say " oh no its you who is crying"...ah self owning in its raw and beautiful form.. 3. I would have no problem helping the OP if i had the experience or time...or I could just maybe mock him..because that is really "adding to something" huh?

I can see this is going to be tough if you are not going to pay attention to my "pro" humor and sarcasm....
You said: I'm going to stick another offering in the MP3 Clinic. I said: The MP3 Gods will be happy. Do you stick it (the offering) with a knife? Take better aim this time (when you stick the offering)...I'm sure you can improve your 50% success rate. That's what I was "babbling" about (I caught that line before you did your edit). I see your English comprehension has its moments...I'll write slower for you from now on. |

And no one is "mocking" the OP....at least not any more than you were doing in the "How much should I pay for amature mixing & mastering" thread with comments like this:
Of course...when it's pointed out to you, you like to footnote your posts by saying you're just "having fun". Joking around and some BBing is fine...but don't play the part of the victim when it comes back at you. I think your biggest problem (outside of the Cave) is that you seem to have a chip on your shoulder with folks that have more experience than you with audio and/or those that may have better studio rigs than you. You've beaten that drum quite a few times in the short time you've been on the HR forums. What's that all about? Most guys here that you consider "snooty" and "blowhards" actually spend a LOT of time giving out hard-earned information to newbies (FOR FREE)...BUT guess what...they are going to give it out on THEIR terms, not the newbie's. If that's bothersome to you...well...they ARE the ones that have the info...so I guess you need to just live with it. You can join up and we can all hold hands and sing a song or somethin’...or you can keep pissing against the wind... …whatever gives you greater returns. |

When you start promising things like contracts, credits and future positions (at least one of which you are not in a position to promise), you are not offering anything for "free", you are in fact making an offer of some value. It is a hire. The problem is, that value and a buck will get you a large soda at McDonalds; only the desperately thirsty will take it. Is that really what you want your Big Chance to hinge around? You can't promise the future engineer position, nor the training; you simply are not in a position to offer those things at this time, as those will depend upon the real label that wishes to buy you when the time comes. As far as engineer credit, that only has value to those who have little or no credit now. Again, while there are some great up-and-comers out there, is that really the basket into which you want to gamble the future of your enterprise? If you have the talent and the vision lined up, you should be able to find and hook a managing partner in the form of an engineer with the experience - and maybe even the connections - to actually take you to the next level. But first, you have to find who's potentially in such a position, and then get to work actually selling them on the idea. This involves more than just posting a couple of meSpace links - though those are helpful. It means a) getting an official business plan together, b) figuring out who would even be in a position to seriously take such an offer, c) pitching the plan *and* selling yourself as someone with whom one would wish to do the business of your plan, and d) making a real and substantial offer in the form of a percentage partnership in the venture. IMHO YMMV 3DBB ETC. G. |
