Sorry for all the noob questions, I hope I'm not wearing out my welcome.

Is there a way to get the edit and mix views in separate windows? I'd like to put mixer in one (video) monitorm edit in the other.

I'm assuming you mean getting the MCP and TCP into separate windows.

To do this, right click the Mixer tab in your docker, and uncheck Dock mixer in Docker. It now acts as an independent window!
