Fade

OMG...how hard can it be.

How do you fade the end of the song?

Not even. Just move your curser to the end of any track (or section), and you can set whatever length and type of fade.

That's just per-track though, isn't it? ...or maybe it's one of the countless features I haven't discovered yet.

But yes, volume automation on the master track is the usual way to fade out an entire project.

Easier: Render out the final file and then do the fade in an audio editor.

I like to do my fades in Sony Soundforge after I master them there (SoundForge has great graphical fade in/out editors)....

Sorry it took me a few day to get back. It is per track, but if you hit "Ctrl A", it will highlight all the tracks. Then, when you go to the top corner of a track to activate the fade, it will apply to all the tracks. You'll see it happening as you're doing it.

I Reap. I Reap.

Well, only for the butchering stage....I mean "mastering" stage. I do everything in the 2488, and then bring my 2-track into Reaper.

I don't think it works that way? In my experience, you can only fade multiple tracks simultaneously that way if they end in the exact same place.

I just render the track to wav and then fade it in Audacity.

Does anyone know how to quickly adjust the volume curve when you use the drag the end method? Whenever i use it, its a useless curve that does hardly any fading then a lot all at once.

Go to where the fade starts, right click and you'll see a choice of curves.
