Proximity effect using two vocal mikes??

I ve heard reference to a vocal tracking technique using two mikes one a condenser and one a dynamic mike. Can someone tell me about this?

Not sure if it has anything to do with proximity effect, but it sounds good when you take a Shure sm57 right above nose level only a few inches away, then use your condenser as normal and blend the two tracks at mixdown....also try compressing one of the mics and not the other, letting one breathe more.....
