Angry US-122L headphones not working?

Ok so my dad and I are super new when it comes to all this and were having some problems getting the tascam set up. We are running a keyboard through it through the midi in and were going into a Mac with Garageband. We can get sound to come through the "built-in device" aka the laptop speakers, but we can seem to get the sound to come out of headphones or external speakers. We have tried the headphones jack on the us-122l and we have tried the line out and the midi out. Anyone know what the problem may be? Its startin to get frustrating Im hopin im just overlooking something dumb. Guess Ill find out soon enough!

You need to configure the computer to use the Tascam as the soundcard.

Control panel---->Sounds and Audio Devices----->Audio

Select Tascam US122 (It may show up as USB Device) as the default device for playback and recording.

That should take care of your problem.
