You have two options:

1 Read this:http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=282550

or

2 Sell your gear right back.

He's tellin you to sell it back cuz if you don't already know how to hook it up, you probably don't know what your gear actually does, and it's likely you've got gear you either don't need, or over paid for it.

First, ask yourself, "What am I trying to do?". Rap music? Record your friend's band? Electronic music, techno, dance? You and your acoustic guitar? Then do some research with the links provided through his link(funny) and you'll figure out what you ACTUALLY need. None of us really know what you're trying to accomplish. I respect the first step though. You gotta start somewhere, but it's better to be focused on what you really want to do so that you'll finish. No use in starting if you're not going to finish, even if it's just some home demo. As you learn more, you'll figure out what gear you need to add or upgrade. I think you should just back up, return your stuff and start simpler.

What I meant by overpaid is not referring to the gear you bought, cuz it's great gear. It's referring to, do you really need higher end gear to do what you want to do as a beginner? You coulda got some lower to mid grade stuff and had some money left over to grab more vocal gear/software. Again, what are you trying to really do? Vocal recording is pretty vague. Poetry, spoken word, voiceovers, podcasts? Or just spittin over some sick beats you created in cubase? Why would you need the 8 channels that the Alesis gives you when you've only got a voice to record? Why not a M-Audio 2 channel firewire interface? Maybe the sales rep you went through was just trying to make a buck? Protect yourself and your money. Research. Research. Research. Don't by stuff on "impulse", and check out this forum and other forums and reviews BEFORE you buy, not after.
