Analog media preservation, transfer and restoration.

New here to this forum, but not surprised it exists.
I'm a crossthread-head from Both Sides Now vintage stereo chat board,, the Lathe Trollers forums, the QuadraphonicQuad forums, the vintage dead audio formats forums ad infinitum.

So, generally, for whoever wants to know, I've been in the analog media preservation, transfer and restoration world for over 20 years, and over 30 years if you count all the crazy analog tape and disc based home studio formats I have the players for.

Oh, and I have players for F-1 (12-bit 14-bit or 16-bit 44.056KHz digital) as well as the crazy 3/4 inch U-Matic players they built in the 70's that tried to give 12 analog tracks in the same track spacing as a Tascam 38, just 12 and in a video cartridge.

To give you an idea, here are a few of my latest projects in a long line of crazy formats I deal with:

1. some people's 3-inch half-speed rim-drive `Letters Home from the War Front' tape treated, played on its' native restored player, remastered into the computer and restored,

2. remastering all 4 sound tracks simultaneously off LaserDisc where the original transfer no longer survives. In this case, the program had a mono soundtrack on left-digital, an M&E on right digital, a director's commentary with the musical score isolated with NO effects on Left Analog, and a cast remembrance taken off several vintage radio programs on Right Analog,

3. disassembling, then baking some Lambda (Akai) 12-track home studio cassettes so that they will play on my modified (low-torque and 12-track half-inch head) Ampex 440-AG so that it can be recorded into the computer at 24-96 and burnt onto a disc so the person can remix.

So, if it's old and you don't know what it is, or you do and you can't play it, chances are I can.
