Newb Starting ~ Help Needed

I have played the piano for almost 20 years
now I wish to take it to the next level and try working with the keyboard
at the same time I wish to incorporate DJ (I am just beginning) with it
hopefully ... what I've said makes sense

I need to know in your opinion ... what else I need so I can get things to work
This is what I've bought so far (everything is new) and after reading a whole bunch of guides and such ... all I know is I am still missing a whole bunch

Computer
MacBook Pro

Keyboard
Yamaha Motif XS8

DJ
Technics SL1210MK5 (X2)
Shure Brothers M447 Cartridge (X2)
Stanton M.505 Mixer
Serato Scratch Live

honestly = = I have no idea what I am doing ... tried reading a lot of people that had similar questions but ... having a tough time understanding

just IN YOUR OPINION what else I need (most importantly what program I should use for composing with the keyboard)(should I get Logic Studio? Logic Express? or something else?) and anything and everything else I'm missing

*edit*
Price is not an issue ... prefer to just get everything I need now
instead of upgrading in equiptment as I get better
in case that sounded ignorant ... like I waste money
I decided to sell my car for this so I have a little money to spare

sorry for the noobness = =

thanks in advance

If you have a Mac, it probably has Garageband already installed. Why not mess around with that a little bit. It might give you an idea of what features you like, and what you will need. From there you can start directing your search a little bit more.

I'm a little confused on what your asking

Are you a piano player getting into the DJ business?

Do you want to play the piano while playing records?

Do you want to play piano along with records and record it too?

The gear you listed makes me believe that you want to be a DJ, just the way it looks to me

Forgot one other, play piano in between songs?

So you want to start making beats ( instrumentals) from scratch?? Is this correct?

Get some looping sofware like Acid and Rewire it to Reason. Then you can do some looping as well as MIDI keyboard playing. Youll need to get some sort of Audio Interface. Hope that helps with what your trying to do
