I'm kinda guessing that there aren't many new members hanging around here who know who you are or care to know who you were once upon a time.

Audiofanzine is a group that took over HR from Dragon.

With it they took the homerecording.net domain too, letting it and any hr.com user email accounts included die without notifying anyone.

No excuse or explanation whatsoever. There's even a post I made in the cave that proves they bought the domain that housed the email service.

I was told by mshilarious that mods can't do anything about it and that I would have to contact the admins directly. You would think a mod would either be part of the admin team or have some sort of clout and contact them on my behalf but apparently here they are just peons like the rest of us.

Anyway, I pm'd m/Audiofanzine a week ago and haven't gotten any response.

The thread is still sitting unanswered in BBS Feedback so I guess they ignore that forum too.

The mods are members like you, with a few more options for editing posts. That's it, though. We are not involved in the business end at all, or any decision-making processes.

Yeah-ah, we're not part of any admin team. And as for clout, we have about as hard a time contacting the administrators as the rest of you. M/Audio and Chater-La are the only administrators who respond anymore; and they are not super-administrators, so I think they have limited capabilities also.

m/Audiofanzine is on vacation. I've never heard of HR emails until a week ago, I'm investigating.

OK Here is the official explanation:

Unfortunately, this is a typical case of something that 'fell through the cracks'.
When we changed servers we were unaware that these emails existed (and I am not even sure how many people were using them), so they were lost in the process and we had no way of contacting those people.

So we're sorry if this caused some people problems (to all 36 users who had these email accounts). In all honesty, if we were aware of these accounts I still don't think we would have kept them. But I agree that we should have placed a notice on the site to let people know we were closing them.
