DP-02 CF Import blues.
I'm a fairly new user for the DP-02 CF. I'm having a nightmare importing tracks successfully. I'll go through my check list and if anyone can spot what I'm doing wrong please post, otherwise it'll be tech support shame for me.
1 New card 2gig, format and create a FAT partition. 2 Song ready to go. 3 Open USB. 4 Drag and drop .wav file into the WAVE directory. 5 Close USB. 6 Go to Menu>wave>import track. at this stage it says "import file not found" or something similar. 7 Open USB, check file is still in WAVE. It is. Repeat 5 and 6 to the same result. the last time I did this my laptop posted a warning bubble that the "delayed write had failed.harddisk file 11 had failed to write and the data was lost" If anyone can tell me if it is a desk/laptop/cable issue I would be v grateful |

The only tip I can offer is the DP02 will only recognize a 16-bit/44.1kHz/MONO wav file,... not your typical stereo wav file you'd normally get on your 'puter for listening or directly off a commercial CD.
I've never rendered a mono Wav file, but I've heard there are programs that will convert stereo wav's to mono. It may just be a setting in your DAW software to do this. Good luck. ![]() ![]()

Just a couple of things to check over. I fell into the predicament of not being able to import files at first because I wasn't snapping to the fact that the tracks were in stereo, not mono. An easy way to split the tracks (if you don't want to combine the tracks into one) is to open the track in Audacity, Sonar, Sound Forge, etc. and simply copy and paste each channel (left/right) into a new file and name it. Viola! There are two mono tracks ready to import. ![]()

I don't think its a timing issue before closing the USB as the file is definitely there.
I just checked file properties and I've been trying to import stereo. Thanks to both of you for spotting this problem. Hazards of being a new user to the hardware I guess. The manual is very explicit on importing .wav only and doesn't highlight mono only, thanks and regards. |

Anytime man. Have fun with it. I love mine, just don't get much time to play with any of my recording stuff nowadays.

[OT] I think I've thought of a way to record from the mic/line inputs directly to the DP02's Master track without recording to the tracking section [1-8] first.
It's an idea I had to try to create a mixdown master on the DP02cf from the 424mkIII Portastudio analog 4-track. It's based on the idea that I'd get a more dynamic master track recording to the DP02cf than from my crappy soundcard. ![]() ![]() It's not too detailed of a trick, but is as yet TBD.

I'm still boggled by how people can bounce a number of times without accidentally wiping out a track in the process on the 424. I'll sit down one day and try to put down a simple tune on it. As of yet, it's been relegated to podcast duty.![]()
