Variation in Rap Music? Change of Key, Chord Sequence?

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a way to make our music more varied. We're a sort of rap/pop crossover and a lot of the beats seem to be quite repetitive. What would you suggest to keep the listener engaged. Would a change of key work? If so, how do you work out which to change to? Or a change of chord sequence or groove? Your suggestions are open. Key changes are not that prevelant in Hiphop. There probably is not a need for it, because a good catchy hiphop track is considered "Hot" because the lyrics are tight and/or the drums are hitting, with some dope strings and other harmonic features...........That is hiphop in it's core....Some dope lyrics over some heavy drums! If you ask alot of old school heads, that is what they hate about todays commercialized hiphop, it sounds too studio and RnBish like.....

I am an RnB dude, so key changes are mandatory. Song setup, intro, verse, chorus, vamp, chorus, etc.....requires different levels of changes.

Stinking wth what Trumpspade said, keep it in the same key, but you can always drum fill, switch up the drums some according to what's going on in your vocals. Dunno, just .02
