I have an early 1990s Custom 24. Very nice guitar. Well made. Plays great. Kind of an all purpose guitar. Doesn't sound quite like a Fender or quite like a Gibson. If you really want either sound, you should look at those guitars. If that doesn't matter to you, then the PRS should work well for you. You might also try an Anderson guitar if you are shopping around for a new guitar at this level.

I've always felt that the Custom 24 was the best thing PRS has ever made (yeah, I know that's a 22, second best after the 24, but the 22 does put the neck pickup in a better place).

I have a maroon coloured Custom 22 with the stop tail bridge and fat neck. I don't actually play electric guitar all that much these days, but I always pull it out when I have visitors as it serves as a nice objet d'art..

And I like looking at it too, especially when the sunlight hits it and you can see the wood.

Gorgeous.

Who cares what it sounds like...

I'm so shallow.

sweet guit-fiddle MunchDude!

Is Monday seeming like a long way off?

That's cuz it is.

And the closer it gets...the longer the hours will be.

And then when Monday finally gets here, the hours will last days, the seconds seem like hours...

Then...

when ya finally get to the shop, money in pocket, shit-eating grin on your face, yellow stains on your fingers from nervously eating bag after bag of Cheeto's...

You'll think of your pal, Dogbreath.

and decide to send it to him cuz you think to yourself...
Doggy's a great guy......"it's the only reasonable thing to do."

So, of course you do and Doggy is extremely happy,
stops sniffin peoples butts
and you go to bed Monday night with the realization that you've made a difference in the lives of all the future butts that would have been sniffed if it weren't for you.

It gives you a sense of accomplishment and you swell with pride...

Way to go dude!

We need more people like you in the world!

MunchDude!!!
Defender of buttocks...Oppressor of Flatulating dolphins!

You Da Man!

Here's mine.

If it speaks to you, buy it. They may not be the second coming, but they are very nice guitars.

Nah,went in to get it on Sat,while we were waitin for techy to come in to set it up I got bored and tried out the ESP,never had or tried geetar with EMGs before n gotta admit was well impressed and bought it,store owner not so much cos ESP was £1300 cheaper,to be totally honest comparing the two the ESP plays and feels better and there is little to nuthin between them build quality wise.

I`m an epic fail guitar snob.

I've got an ESP and I like it, but the PRS is the one that is always out. I also have built a few, but the PRS does probably 80-90% of the work in my recordings. I would consider myself a guitar snob as well. The ESP has it's advantages (like the floyd rose for dive bombs), but the playability of the PRS is out of this world.

I was at an Alter Bridge gig last November and the 2 guitarists between them must have used about 10 different PRS gits (their sponsor, lucky guys....), all of them real beauties. I was in the second row drooling all the way thru...*sob*

FWIW, I had a PRS with a bolt on neck before I got the Custom 24. Not as flashy, but it played just as well and was a lot less expensive. Shoulda kept it.
