If you are willling to take the risk of a mugging, CL is the one place where there still seem to be some bargains. That one is ridiculous though! I see one for sale that needs work on another MB for $475 right now!
My best Craigslist score-- a Roland JX-10 Analog Synth with a couple of sticky keys plus a gig bag for $30!

i haven't gotten to try it yet since my bandmate picked it up for me but supposedly the only thing wrong with it is that the power button is missing. of course you can turn it on manually or just plug it into a power strip or something.
and i have not had any trouble with craigs list locally other than the people being flakey and not calling back or something.
