Well, I think the music is well composed and the arrangments are fine. Now, the recording has some issues:
1. Kick I'm a fan of loud drums but this kick is interfering with the vocals and it's standing out from the mix wchich is not the objective but to give a sense of rhythm and acentuation. The sound is fine, nice body and snap, problem is the volume. 2. Guitars Spread the stereo image a little more, the lead clean guitar is on the center but you don't have anything to balance it to the right. A solution could be to put another accoustic to the right (copye the one you already have) and pan the lead at 12 o clock. 3.Snare Add a pinch of room verb. Maybe a little compression could help too. See my lesson about using a compressor. This is the link Repost as soon you have these issues solved. Luck.

Hi again, and thank you for the feedback. I`ve tried to do as you told. Also it is 8 db lower on the master volume, to avoid the red wich were there on the first one.

Much better! Hewar how the snare fits better? Kick is driving the song without disturbing the rest of instruments. Now just to take this song one step futher evaluate if you need to have more overhead toms instead of direct toms. Don't know how you recorded this but sometimes the direct mic of the toms is too "hard" for this kind of song. The overheads capture the essence of the hit and give some "air" or "atmosphere" to the song.

Well, actually I`m using BFD XFL. (which have nice opportunities with changing mic positions for room, overhead etc though, so I`ll try making the toms less direct) I have no great studio, so this will be like a demo in the end.. I have the book with Mike Stavro, mixing with your mind, so with a little patients and hard work I hope I might get an ok track.
I can post it when I`m done recording the whole song. Dont have a second verse and Im not so satisfied with the vocals/lyric yet. Maybe I`ll add some backingvocal with the lead in the chorus. ![]() |

Hi again. Well, I said I would share it when I finished. The vocal is not finished (lyrics etc) but at least it is a whole song.
Both are there, Tip (new) and Tip3 (old). http://www.soundclick.com/bands/defa...?bandID=952006 |
