just got my first portastudio (144)
just landed a 144 for a great price...and the thing is beautiful. Low, low hours, the heads look brand new, the piece has been wrapped in it's original packaging since the early 90's i'd say. manual included too. It used to be used for mixing audio for video, how many projects i don't know, but it certainly wasn't used much.
i pretty much bought the thing without plugging it in because it looked so good. Luckily it does work... ![]() that said, i don't think the belts have been changed ever. even though it seemingly operates fine would it be a good idea to go ahead and change them? |

You might want to post this up in the "Analog Only" forum, as I don't think the Tascam forum gets much traffic anymore, for some unknown reason. Congrats on the score man.
