Hey Dad

It's been awhile since I've posted here for various reasons. But I'd really like to get your impressions on this mix.

This song took me 8 years to complete. I wrote it when my Dad passed away on April 29, 2001. I couldn't even bring myself to record it until late last year. It was so emotional for me that I didn't even get a decent vocal track until about a few weeks ago.

My humble thanks to Ken Matson for his incredible piano work and to Bobby Cabrera for his incredible harmonies.

And especially to Rami for his impeccable work on drums. You ARE the best and I couldn't have done it without your help!

Well..I had to check this out because it came from something so real. The emotion is there. This isn't really my style of music but everything sounds full and well mixed. Dad would be proud. My condolences.

Very touching, Jeff. I share your feelings, 'cos I did the same thing when my dad passed away a year and a half ago. I know how hard it is to put something like this in writing but you feel better when you've done it and it's a good way to come to terms. Your dad would be proud.

Thanks, Joey! Appreciate the listen and the comments! It was probably the toughest song I've ever done. But the guys that helped me on this pushed me when they felt it was "necessary."

Perfect. Made my eyes mist up thinking about my Dad too. which although the recording, etc was all very good, I could have given a flip about that listening to this song.
