acrylic window?

would acrylic work for a window in a studio? reason being I'm building a project studio and I can get 1/2" acrylic at my work really cheap.

It all depends on how you define "work". If all it has to do to succeed as a studio window is allow you to see into the adjacent space with very little transmission loss...sure, it will "work". On the other hand, IF you need a window assembly with a Transmission Loss rating that matches a standard studio, two leaf wall with each leaf comprised of 2 layers of 5/8" drywall,(assuming all other assemblys match as well..ie..door,floor, ceiling, ducting etc), then no. It will not.
