Electronic / Acoustic / MIDI Crossover Question!
I own a Yamaha DTX Explorer Electronic drum kit, and I want to use the pads and the brain along with my real set to trigger some prerecorded loops.
First off, i have no clue what to do, I use a PC with CuBase, and I don't know very much about Midi. Any Help? I know its a vague question, but any help would be appreciated. Also, if you've been to a metal/hardcore show, typically the drummers have some kind of electronic pad they use to trigger a huge boom/thump/slam noise to emphasize the breakdowns. I am wondering where i could find this clip, or how to make it or whatever. Thanks!! |

Does the DTX have a sequencer in it? I believe a sequencer can record short sounds and then play them back on demand. Some can even be triggered by drum pads.
About your other question...can you give more details? What are you calling a breakdown? Can you name a song where we can hear this sound? |

the huge bass note is from a 808 pad , they can be easily made or even downloaded. search roland tr 808.... the slap noise is probably a rim shot or noise samples layered on top.
