Sennheiser e935 Cardioid Dynamic Handheld Mic

Interested in buying Sennheiser e935 Cardioid Dynamic Handheld Mic for vocal pc recording.Will I need any thing else . preamp etc to hook this up to my computer? I am a newbie in the pc recording arena.

Yes. You will need an interface with a preamp and analog to digital conversion, or an outboard preamp and a recording soundcard. You can't just plug a mic into a computer. You will also need software, but that is pretty easy. The question is- what are you trying to record, and how many simultaneous channels do you need to record? The other answers to your questions hinge on that. Also, the e935 may not be the mic you need, depending on what you are trying to record. Also, this is not really a mic question, it's a newbie recording question. You'd get more help if you post it in the newbies forum.-Richie
