What to do???

I am trying to create a home studio in my basement, but the only problem is that I have these huge metal things in the celing of my basement (that transport heat through the house). Every time I crank my amp up, they rattle. I don't have much money at all to buy expensive things, so if you have any ideas about any materials I need to buy, please keep that in mind.

How do I stop them from rattling??

secure them more tightly? i think there's insulation you can get for ducts too. wrap that around them maybe also.

yeah...I would think either some insulation, tighten up what you can or just grab some duct tape (the grey stuff) and tape anything that rattles.
And it'll look pretty too.

You may want to consider building a frame around them and just casing them in sheetrock to get some isolation. OR making the ducts more massive using rubber or something would be a good idea if it wasnt such a pain.

OR you could build a free standing mass wall and ceiling to isolate. entirely.

Duct taping everything will Definitely help. Maybe invest in some spray foam (Great Stuff) and some latex caulk (Alex White caulk is decent) for all of those hard to tape areas. maybe stuff fiberglass tightly around the ducts too.

you might find that it is impossible to stop them from buzzing simply because sheet metal likes to move.
