Would this work for recording acoustic and vocals?

Would the following gear work for recording acoustic guitar and vocals? (I'm totally 100% new to everything, and don't even know what half this junk is, but some guy is trying to sell it to me for $250 and said it'd be good for use at home)

A Tascam US-144 (wtf is this?)
An MXL-990 and an MXL-991 (know what those are kinda)
2 20' XLR cables (know what those are)
2 adjustable boom mic stands (again, know their use)
A shockmount for the MXL-990 (I know what to do with it, but not what it is/does)
A Nady metal pop filter/wind screen (know what it's for)
A Dean Markley acoustic soundhole pickup (obviously know what it's for)
Cubase LE software

So could I record acoustic guitar and vocals with that? Would I need anything else?

As long as you had a computer, it would work.

I think that $250 is a good price if it's all in good shape. You can buy the US-144, MXL 990/991, & two 20ft. mic cables at musiciansfriend.com for $200. http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com...dle?sku=241736.

Sounds like a fair deal. The shockmount comes with the mic and Cubase LE comes with the US-144. Your friend didn't pay extra for those.... but still he's asking a reasonable price if everything is in good working condition.
