5150 help asap please

i just got a 5150 today.. super excited. i want to check it out but i dont have a cab to mic up, so i was just wanting to run it straight to into my preamp. i am very weary of destroying equiptment. i'm assuming i should have the preamp at line level.. question is the only out i can find on the head is 'preamp out', i know this sounds obvious but just wanted to make sure this is the right one

Yes that should work....

If by "i dont have a cab" means no speaker/no load I don't think I'd try it. Tube amps don't usually take well to not having a load at the speaker jacks.

Never run a tube amp without a load. The output transformer will not like that at all.

wow. thanks guys. i didnt get a response soon enough and couldnt wait so i tried it. i've done it twice with no problem, but i will definately cease and desist.
