Cabinets?

So I'm getting all my gear together, and I'm kind of puzzled on what cabinet to get to record guitar. My heads include Peavey 6505+ and Peavey XXX

This is so stereotypical...but for good purpose...because they sound good.

Go with a Mesa 4x12 or the 6505/5150 4x12.

I've heard a 5150 through a 4x12 Genz-Benz that sounded killer before, too. A buddy of mine recorded a whole CD with a Dual Rec through a Budda cab and it was NOT meant to handle a high-gain grit. But a clean-channel Budda sounds like heaven.

Also, another buddy has a 2x12 Line6 something-or-other extension cab (it wasn't too cheap) and a Mesa 2x10 extension cab, throws two different mics on each one and it sounds GOOD. Decent bottom end, too, especially from the Line6 cab.

Haha yeah, true. Stick with the brand!

Honestly, the XXL 4x12 cab doesn't sound bad at all for a $400 cabinet.

ya I've heard mixed reviews on Peavey cabs so i guess I'll go try em out. But ive heard only good reviews from Mesas, so i dont know I'll try out the peaveys and see how it goes.

Thanks everyone!

IMO the Peavey cabs sound like ass when compared to a Marshall cab loaded with G12H 30 speakers.
