Best Way to sync analog (TSR-8) to DAW (Cubase Le)

Hello All,
I'm looking for the easiest and/or cheapest way to sync analog (TSR-8) to a DAW (Cubase Le). I don't think I care whether the TSR-8 chases Cubase or the other way around. I just want to be able to record and then mix simultaneously on both. I've done a little research on this but came up with conflicting answers. My interface is a Presonus Firepod. Do I need a midiizer? Is there something newer that would work better, or do I even need anything additional at all? Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Jonathan

I'm dealing with a similar problem. I'm about to start a project where I need sync a mondern drum machine to a tape deck. I just picked up a JL Cooper PPS 100 off e bay. This will stripe the tape with SMPTE and convert that same code to any number of MIDI type codes, i.e. MTC MIDI Clock or even DIN for older drum machines. I'd look into something like that. I don't know much about Cubase, so I don't exactly how it would work, but that's what I'd do.

Thanks Nate, I just read your thread. I'll look into the JL Cooper PPS 100, good luck to you on your project.
