My own personal tastes would yield the most from the 90's.

Can I say the decade from 93 to 03?

For me--it's the 80's. Enough of the classic 70's rockers that I love were still kicking around and making good music, and a ton of great guitar rock was coming out.

Besides, in '85, I was graduating High School. In 86 I was married and having a daughter. So from the nostalgic High School/Coming of Age memories of music to all the love songs that influence one, the 80's hold it all for me.

(P.S. Both of my kids love 80's music the best, and they're 23 and 18--guess I listen to it a lot!)

What he said, minus the married and kids in '86. I was going ashore in the Philippines for the first time in '86. We won't discuss that here...

I guess every age had its highlights. Rock'n'roll was born in the 50s, continued to evolve and produced the rock legends of the 60s, progressive in the 70s, hair and guitar in the 80s, grunge and crossover in the 90s, etc. etc. One should take every age for what it is. Even today Rock keeps evolving and there are plenty of exciting young bands around which I love to listen to.

1960's

Look at what there was in 1959 and then look at what there was in 1970!

Wow..seeing hows I have such an eclectic taste for music, that is a tough question...but..the 70's will always have first place I suppose...in rock anyway.

Creativeness seemed to be at a peak in the 70's...musicians stepped out of traditional sound and expectations to experiment more.

The drug culture, conflicting Peace Movement-Vietnam war, Earth awareness, sexual revolution, Women's Lib going full tilt boogie and the ongoing generation-gap-war, presented music as an especially appealing escape..and form of self-expression, whether it be creating and playing it..or dancing, sexing, protesting, burning your bra or stoning to it.

The 80's was sorta a blur to me, hit and miss with the sounds then...no, not because of drugs...just life things beyond my control. Most of the music from the 80's I am familiar with, is due to my kids, the 90's the same.

I still love almost every era of music though. Big Band era(30's-40's) is another favorite.

I just love MUSIC!!!

Now the new wave is roots 'n roll... a backlash to sampled approximusic. We want to hear it live and gritty.
