Sampling Question.
I'm fairly new to recording but an experienced musician and I'm producing a demo for one of my friends with pro tools 8. Its a rap demo and I am sampling from an etta james song much like what kanye west does. When I sample to my midi keyboard and play the clip in a higher octave the song obviously speeds up as well as the pitch of the singers voice. Is there anyway to leave the vocals in that higher pitch and slow down the tempo?

See what you can do with pitch and time shift. There is time changes without pitch alteration. Try those out, maybe you'll find that something works. Good luck, Eric
