Hi-passing vocals
Just curious here, should I be high passing the vocals I record? I read on some post that it is usually good to high pass vocals.

depends on the mix....if its a thick rock mix, you may need to hi pass at around 100-150 to make things less muddy, but if its a spacey ballad, probably not.
Though it does get rid of deep pops as well. |

the basic concept is why record or play that band if it's not got that much going on in that area... which would make you thin if it doesn't have that much going on why the need to ditch the lows???? consider for a sec though how much more room for actual bass if you can eliminate the random muddying from some of the tracks... but dont over do it either...
