dummy cubase sx question

Just started using cubase sx, reading manuals and so on - so far it's all pretty easy and I managed to record a couple of tracks. What I can't figure out is how to put cursor exactly on the location I want. For example I want to do a punch in for my guitar solo and I need to move cursor to the position where solo continues - let's say #5. When I move cursor to #5 with my mouse it never stands exactly on five - on the transport panel it shows 4.4.4.76 or 5.1.1.16.
There's gotta be a way to zero it in on 5 sharp, otherwise there will be a noticeable "whole" on the track

You are looking for the 'snap to' feature. There is a button to push that enables it. It looks something like >|< , but you have to find the thing that tells it what to snap to.

Not sure but I think you can type the position you want to be directly into the transport panel.

That will click your audio to the quantise setting

For a punch in, I think it more helpful to set your left and right markers to the exact punch in and out points and starting the cursor well before the punch in point. It makes it much easier for continuity.
