MultiMix 16 firewire question

I noticed that the multimix has two firewire ports in the back of it, so I was basically wondering if i could chain a couple of them together? I've got a multimix 16, and a friend of mine has the 8, so I just wanted to borrow it and record a jam session with my band, but we are broke and don't wanna go out and but a bunch more cables like xlr to 1/4".

knugen is on a distinguished road
The extra port is for daisychaining FireWire units and you can use for connecting another Multimix, but the two units will show up as two separate units in your DAW...

That's true, and I might add:

You can connect ANY other firewire device to that port. Video cameras, hard drives, another interface, whatever. In any order. There's no priority, a firewire bus acts just like a PCI bus.
