day 1 of RPM Challenge-recorded 34 songs

It is 8:05pm and I am just finishing up my last song to a wave file. The contest says a cd must be 35 miutes or 10 songs. So, I have at least 3 cds by titles and am not sure how long the entire 34 songs are. I started at 9am, broke for an hour to run the dogs, then had a friend come by for an hour, which means 34 songs recorded, mixed, mastered to wave files in 9 hours. I am going to burn them to cd tomorrow. I want to catch the second half of the superbowl. I am feeling good!!!! Walter

And I've got one song half way cobbled together over the last month or so... so I'm on your tail, watch out!

Good luck, Walt!

Me too....

I don't think Walter will be needing to check his rear view mirror just yet... If I really floor it I can sometimes manage a song in a week (so long as you're not looking for anything as fancy as actual talent or recording ability...) so if W.T. keeps this rate up, I'm going to cross the line no more than 948 songs behind him. Close, but I don't think they'll need to go to the photo.... I'm still trying to find that switch to turn the after-burner on though, so who knows...

All the best Walter, that's a pretty amazing day 1.

Cheers,

Chris

Thumbs up I am happy just....

....SELLING one or two cds per day. Still........recording a cd per day is nothing to sneeze at.

thanks guys: I recorded more today- day 2- and am up to 5 cds. The wierd thing is the songs sound better to me than most of what I do when I have no plans of making any cds. I am spending about 2 minutes per song mixing. I am glad I am familiar with my gear! I would like to post all these songs to a dedicated soundclick site, but there is no way I am going to because it would take up way too much time. New songs continue to be bursting out and I am compelled to record. Thaks! Walter

I agree, Chris. I average writing about one song every six weeks. I just dabble with each one as time permits. When I get tired of it, I stop for a few days.

Cheers,
Joseph

Thanks, Dave. I hope you're feeling better, BTW.

Since I began using a neti pot a couple of years ago, I rarely get sick and my sinuses usually stay clear. Of course, my dear wife loves to sleep with our ceiling fan turned on, so I have to plug my ears with cotton to avoid an ear ache. Heh.

Joseph
