Angry Converting MIDI to Audio

I might be asking something thats been answered but i didnt feel like searching through thousands of post to find someone with a similiar situation.

So here it is. I have a tascam US-122 interface, a Korg x-50 keyboard, and Cubase LE. I can get cubase to record a midi file but as soon as i change the settings on my Korg from say drums to piano, then the drum track i just recorded turned into piano. How can I convert the MIDI to audio? I've spent hours during multiple days trying to figure this out and I've become extremely frustrated.

I am completetly a beginner so please try to speak english. Thank You.

You have to record the audio outs from your keyboard. The Korg Op Manual tells you how to hook it up. Pages 25 and 26 ( http://www.korg.com/uploads/Download...1541940000.pdf )

Good luck.

Ya, ive tried that but i get a delay and i also cant edit the sounds individually before i convert them to audio. Do you know of a way to record as midi, THEN convert to audio?

The delay might be latency. You can adjust some parameters in cubase to minimize it, but risk glitches and drop-outs in the audio. I'm not familiar with the US-122, but think you should be able to do some kind of realtime monitoring while tracking so you have no delay at all.

If you want to use the sounds from your korg, there is no other way to do it. You edit the patches in your keyboard until you get what you want and record it through the audio outs into your US-122 audio ins.

The other option is to record the midi data, then use a VSTi that you can edit. It is basically a synth in your computer. They range from free to $X000.

You should take the time to research your options. A lot of this covered before. The search function is your friend.

Good luck.
