MP3 Patch For LE4

Hello fellow Cubase users.

Problem background:
I am currently using the Cubase version that came with my Presonus Firebox. It was LE1 but I wrote Presonus and they sent me version LE4 for the cost of shipping ($1.50). With advise from this forum I removed the LE1 and installed the LE4. Anyway, I want to export some my projects to an Mp3 file. Of course, at that point I found out that LE4 does not support Mp3 exporting. I then purchased the Mp3 export patch file for LE4 from the Steinberg website ($15) and installed it from my desktop. The patch seemed to install without problems but I still did not see "Mp3" in the export file dropdown menu. I then saw a Vista 64 bit patch for the Mp3 patch. Since my system is Vista x64 I dowloaded and installed that patch too. No problems noted during installation but I still do not see "Mp3" listed in the export dropdown.

Anyone have or seen the same issue? If so, how do I fix it?

Thanks,
Prock

Duh! I guess...

I downloaded and installed the patch. Nowhere in the instructions did it mention that you have to download a "eLicense" with the "License Control Center" program that is also installed to the PC.

I downloaded the "eLicense" and all works good now. Mp3s galore.

Pretty easy if you know what to do. Right?

Eh, I wanted to find that upgrade because my MP3 encoding was running out. I read that the download had been discontinued, so I just DL'ed Audacity for free and now I have free MP3 encoding that's pretty versatile. Audacity is good for mastering too. I hate Cubase LE. It's buggy and jumps tracks and crap. If it werent free, I'd definately NOT pay for Cubase.
