Cubase latency after tracks recorded...

I am new to cubase and have been using Sonar for 5 years. I dropped an audio file of the drum track into the project. Then I tracked a guitar over top of it. I was listening to the sound of the drums coming out of the speakers and listening to the amp at the same time.

when I play back the tracks the guitar is out of synch with the drum track. This seems to be some sort of latency issue during recording. I have ASIO drivers, not ASIO 2.0 and I have not been able to locate the mixer for my sound card to select on board or direct monitoring.

I am using just a regular widows compatible sound card as I just recording scratch demo's for now so buying a new sound card is not an option. In the mean time I'm going back to my VS 2000.

1st . look in the manual for something on use system timestamp... i think it's under the devices tab... that will hopefully take care of the timing issue...

look in windows under the controll panel and you should find a way to get to you soundcard preferences..
