cd upgrade for masterlink?

hi, sorry if this has been discussed before,
but i can't use the search on this forum recently, the search box comes out underneath the advertisement in firefox. i've searched google for hours and theres too much noise, i can't seem to find the answer to this even though I figure its got to be out there somewhere.

can you upgrade the masterlink 9600 to a faster cdrom drive? this thing burns very slow...which is probably good for masters but most or all of what im burning isn't going to a repro plant, sometimes I Just need a quick burn. ive read about hard disk hacks, opamp changes, etc. but nothing on burners.

thanx!

From what I remember you had to get the burners from Alesis...I'm not sure the software and firmware of the machine would support faster burn times anyway. You could always call them and ask.
