Hiring something specific, cheaply, quickly, locally...

Hi guys,

Anyone know anywhere or anyone in the Southampton/Portsmouth (UK) are from whom I could hire a Behringer ADA8000 (or similar) very cheaply, just for one evening. I really need it for recording a gig in two weeks time, but my one threw a wobbly a month or two back and has been shipped off to a friend who is very skillful with electronics for repair.

I know people will say "just buy one... they're only £150 and they're expected to break anyway", but I don't have spare money lying around and there's no point buying another one when hopefully my original one will be fixed by next century at least.

All the live sound hire places don't have anything of the sort because its more 'studio equipment'. If anyone locally has one collecting dust in their rack and want to help me out then I would be eternally grateful

I'm started to be tempted just to buy another one, but then that will start to eat out of my monitor budget

I'd say either light a fire under your

friend who is very skillful with electronics

or

buy another one

He's had it for a couple of months now... you may just need a new one.
