M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 fixes
Hi there, I just bought one of these off eBay (used) and will most certainly be my last purchase of music gear off that website (yea I should know better). Anyway, when I got the thing I noticed the keys have a weird feeling to them that floor models I have messed with don't, and I am wondering if someone knows how to fix it or adjust it.
I'll try to explain this as best as I can.... Basically, the keys need an inconsistent amount of pressure to press them down. When you first press on them, you have to press slightly harder but once past that point the feel is consistent. Its almost like there is a hump or something the key is getting caught up on, though be it a very slight one. It is just noticeable enough that it does mess with my playing because I try to compensate and end up playing too hard. Also, the velocity is messed up on the 87th key and have to mash down on it to get a response from software. Anyone know if this can be fixed? I have a feeling the remedy is going to be beyond my technical expertise, so i'll probably learn to live with it. Thanks, Uro |
