"Real" studios posting raw wave files

This is kind of related a the other thread about hosting a web site whee prople wouldbid to mix your music....like yeah,I want my stuff mixed by the lowest bidder??Anyways. I'd love to see studios, lets say the real big boys, post waves file samples. Now what I mean is, to truly tell what a studio is like, or sounds like and how the engineers are we need to hear the raw tracks.I'd love to have a place like Abbey Road or Ocean Way bring in some generic band.I mean real good players but a band that is not looking to make a commercial cd. Have them record some tunes then post the wave file on their site for people to download and mix (play with). This I think would be a great marketing tool for a studio to prove that they have a good room(s) and good engineers.

I know that sometime in the last year or so, someone posted a link to a site that has the raw files to the Beatles Sgt. Pepper. I don't know if a search will help you find it, but hopefully someone who knows what I'm talking about will see this and direct you to it.

Those multitracks are all over torrents. I've got:

4 tracks from Sgt. Pepper
2 or 3 Marvin Gaye's
3 Bob Marley tunes
Some rather crap Nirvana demos
2 Queen tracks

Honestly, get on the torrents and get those files. Regardless of the OP, the files REALLY are worth getting simply to have a glimpse at what things sound like, production, arrangements etc.

I am staying away from those torrents because of what happenned with Napster. People got in trouble for downloading illegal copies of stuff and their IP addresses were logged. Later, the music companies went after those whose IP addresses were logged. You really never know. I seriously doubt it is legal because torrents have cracked software, music and everything imaginable. Be carefull.

Rami, yeah I saw post about the Beatles multitracks.I'll tell you,I'd LOVE to get a hold of those to play with. But what I really mean is to have studios, you know, the really big boys, post waves files for potential comsumers to load into their DAW and check out the quality.I mean THAT is the real test of a studios quality. How the raw tracks sound. It shows the room, mic quality and engineer's ability to properly place mic's, the mic pre's,just the general sound and engineers abilities overall.

Yeah, except for the fact that there are no legal copies of Beatles studio stuff unmixed.

Hell, if you think about it, there's not many legal copies of mixed and mastered Beatles stuff (yet)!
