Thumbs up want your bass drum to really kick in a mix

Here is a handy little tip, do you want that bass drum to hit you square in the chest, push 64 Htz and roll off 6 db.

For which size kick drum miked how? And roll 6dB off where? Does that mean we shelf at -6dB or roll off 6dB per octave?

What if the kick's resonant frequency is 63Hz? 65Hz? 75Hz? 80Hz? 40 Hz?

What if it's already 6dB too hot at that frequency?

What if it doesn't need a shelf?

Why would you push and then roll off the same frequency?
