Hey all,

It's been a while and forever since I posted here, but I need some advice and don't know how to go about this.

I recently upgraded my practice/recording room from all kinds of different instrument amps to a PA system. I bought a Yamaha MG166cx and a Crown Xti 4000 going to some Yamaha 215s. I love it, because I just plug everything into the mixer (e-drums, guitars, bass, vocals, keys) and can get it to sound much better than the mush wall of sound we had going on before.

But then I was thinking...hmm, why didn't I just buy a super nice mixer and replace my current recording set up.

So, here's the dilemna. For recording I have been a long time user of the EMU 1820m. It works well, but I have a few buyers lined up that would be willing to buy it off me, and I was thinking while I am still within a 30 day return window on my mixer...how hard would it be to convert to a mixer with some kind of firewire or USB output and use that??

But now I am confused because I haven't ever had to set up a fully mixer operated set up before!! The EMU acts like a sound card, so I can listen to stuff from my computer...and it has the built in MIDI, SPDIF, and 24 bit convertors and whatever. All I need is 14 inputs or more, but sometimes use MIDI and SPDIF...I could live without the SPDIF if that's not possible.

Can someone help me? Basically my question is this...
What would I need to go from EMU to all mixer, and still be able to do the same things I am doing now.

Thanks anyone!!
