MOTU MTP II manual confguration

Hi All,

I have MOTU MidiTimePiece II that I have set up through the front panel controls.

I need help in figuring out how to take an input on one cable on some channel (say ch 8) and send it to another cable (oh say 7) and map channel 8 to channel 1.

My plan is to have Rosegarden output to cable 1 with more than one instrument (one instrument per channel) and have the MOTU take ch 7 and send it to a specific synth (that only knows about channel 1).

I'm still a noob with midi.....

Regards, Ethan

There are two steps to this process. First you need to map cable 1 input to cable 8 output. Then you need to map channel 7 to channel 1 on output cable 8. Here is how to do it:

Cable Mapping:
1) Use WINDOW knob to get to MIDI ROUTING menu
2) Use CURSOR knob to navigate to ROUTE BY CABLES sub-menu
3) Use SELECT knob to select the incoming cable (in this case cable 1)
4) Use VALUE knob to select the outgoing cable in (in this case cable 8)

Channel Re-mapping
1) Use the WINDOW knob to go to MIDI CHANNEL MAP menu
2) Use CURSOR knob to select OUT CHANNEL REMAP sub-menu
3) Select cable using SELECT knob to set the cable value (in this case 8)
4) Use VALUE knob to set source channel (in this case 7)
5) Switch to destination channel using CURSOR knob
6) Use VALUE knob to set destination channel (in this case 8)

Let me know how it works for you!
