Windows Movie Maker - XP version question

Windows Movie Maker - XP version.

I have 8 AVI files. I want to make them into one long file using Windows Movie Maker and then burn to DVD. I'm pretty sure, it will recognize each file as a chapter.
When I import the files, it gets broker into 15 or so files, and the last file is 67 hours or something. I am able to combine videos after it has done this, but the last one is ... acording to WMM 67 hours and impossible to fix.

Is there a better way around this ? Is WMM limited ?
Is there another freeware capable to do this ? (That will work on a Pentium 4)

Try converting the AVI into wmv files 1st. You'll still get the breakdown into "clips" but you mighht get a better result for that mega one. How long is the last clip before you import it?
Something has gone wrong in translation. Could be a corrupt header or file.
I don't know of any other progs as I've only just discovered WMM in the last couple of months myself.

Good idea. The files were originally FLV from Youtube. I use AnyVideoConveter to convert FLV to AVI (XVID), and have never had a problem before
MAJOR DISCOVERY !!! ... RealPlayer has a Record Video feature when viewing streaming media. As if streaming is protected. Why use a DL manager, when Real will do the dirty work. Maybe some of you have noticed a little tab pop up above a video "download video", if you have RealPlayer

The true time is 3 to 4 minutes, but WMM things it's 67 hours

Corrupt ? ... just like Micro$oft Something isn't stored properly, and it could be the header information. Good call.
A friend recommended VirtualDub, but I have yet to try it.
I experimeneted with Free Joiner last night ... it sucks to wait 2 hours for the results to be way-FN-out-of-sync
