Firewire for Laptop

I am looking at getting a preamp which uses firewire to my laptop. However, my Laptop doesnt have a firewire port. Does anyone know of any hardware which can be used as an adaptop for e.g. USB into firewire.

Can you please give me any recommendations you have?

Thanks for your help

Aled

If you have no firewire ports, you'll need to buy a card that goes into the PCMCIA/Cardbus/whatever slot on your computer. Firewire is firewire, usb is usb.

Enquiry

Thanks for that. I will look into getting a PCMCIA Card. Whilst browsing the internet for some kind of adaptor I came accross this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=280273707002

Does this not work then?

Cheers
