Hi all,
Any good places on the net to purchase mics. I have tried Bayview pro audio. Any better prices than these guys somewhere? |

They only carry a few brands of high-end mics, but if they have what you want, they are excellent! I've purchased a Great River pre, a Neumann KM184, and a pair of RNCs. Re. mic brands, I believe they carry Neumann, Soundelux, Manley, Brauner, and Royer. Good luck! |

I buy from some guy and he has all of these mics and such in his trunk..........looks kinda like Bruce.....hhhhhmmmmmmmmmm
A good bet is to find a local dealer that is privately owned, buddy up with them and the will make an effort to make sure you get the best possible product! May cost you a few dollars more but well worth it!

Im going with Wally on this one....you can hop from place to place on the internet buying stuff because you found it $10 cheaper or you can build up a relationship with a local dealer....alot of them will come off their prices, even more as you spend more $$$ with them.....Now sometimes you find an internet deal that is too sweet to pass up...I jump on those....

I'm one to search the internet for places which "sell for the lowest guaranteed price". Just barter with all of these places. You can usually knock a whole lot off. I've been doin that lately with the shure beta 57...I've got it right now at under 100$. So yea, deals are all over the place. Good luck!

For mics, I tend to look at musicians-gear.com
http://www.musicians-gear.com/ I've purchased three mics from there - two Neumanns and a Microtech Geffel. When the budget allows, I will buy another Gefell from them. Even with shipping and duty, I've generally paid 65% of US prices. If you look at the site, be sure to look at prices in US Dollars w/o German tax - if you're in the US, that is.... For other gear, I'll price shop on the 'net, then go to the two dealers that I have a relationship with, and see who is willing to give the best deal. With the dealers, I tell them straight up the lowest price I've found on the 'net, and then, if one comes up with a lower price - instead of a straight match - then I just ask the other if they can sell it for a little under the price the other dealer quoted without saying telling them they're bidding against someone else. |
