Yamaha MT50 4-track

Would anyone happen to know how the old Yamaha MT50 4-track compares to your basic Tascam? I see one advantage with the Yamaha in that it spins the tape faster, but I have no experience with the alternatives. I believe this model is no longer made, as it's been a few years since I've seen it in the stores.

It probably compares well. I used a Yamaha MT2X for many years, and they are excellent machines. The MT50 is a newer but slightly scaled down version of the MT2X I think. They all sound excellent.
