Vocal Chain quick question

Hi guys,

If I have an audio interface with XLR input for mic, Do I still need a mic preamp before that?

You need to ask yourself if your using a dynamic or condenser mic.

if your using a dynamic mic turn up your gain and you should have signal to your DAW.

Google search your audio interface and see if it has Phantom power (+48v)

**Phantom power is only for condenser microphones.
