hey,
I just bought a shure sm57, to use for micking my acoustic guitar, vocals, and maybe for micking my guitar amp. I just realized that putting it though my zoom 510 guitar effects pedal isn't going to take the place of a preamp.I really wasn't planning on buying a preamp yet, but i do need somthing to boost a clean signal into my sound card. Any ideas for a really cheap preamp? Im just recording by my self so i dont need anything with more then one input, just somthing that i can use, for now, to give me that "Clean Boost". Any ideas for a would be a great help. Thanks, -Andrew |

The ART Mp is really your best bet, especially if your going to record vocals with a dynamic instead of a condenser. Check out Digibid or Ebay, you can find them for about $8o.oo. A new one is about $1oo.oo.

ya, i was thinking of geting that, it seems like the best choice for what i want. As long as the signal will be clearer then the buzzy stereo reciever i tried, and this effects pedal, i will be happy. Anyone use the art mp? let me know how it is.
